RCSB Protein Data Bank is seeking a highly motivated Web Developer.The work at RCSB PDB focuses on data analysis, integration, and transformation, and the presentation and visualization of data using complex interactive graphical user interfaces. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-changing environment, and able to demonstrate an ability to think creatively, generate new ideas, and implement solutions. The candidate should also show an eagerness and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.This position is responsible for straightforward tasks usually under direct supervision not involving significant design or analysis responsibilities. These tasks include programming, testing, documenting applications, and reports. In the case of web designers, the individual would be designing primarily static pages. Performs fundamental programming skills to be able to assist others who design, code, test, debug, document and maintain programs. Assists various web developers, web designers, business analysts, and product managers to create websites and web applications containing required features and modifications. May provide technical advice to other departments within the university and for integrating features built by web developers and web designers. Responsible for staying informed of advances in technology and adapting to new development tools and techniques. Operates under close supervision.Responsibilities:

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Requires excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.

Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education/experience in the discipline. A master's degree in a specialized discipline may be required, particularly in research, project management or managerial positions.
Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bioinformatics knowledge. Web application development skills: html, css and JavaScript.
