The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a part time Public Service Intern 1 located within Early Childhood Mental Health Services, Day Treatment Services in Las Vegas. Early Childhood Mental Health Services Day Treatment Public Service Interns plan and implement group and individual activities for children (ages 3-6 years) with social, emotional and behavioral concerns within a therapeutic group setting. Activities must be developmentally appropriate and relevant to the children's treatment needs. Public Service Interns complete daily documentation of each child's progress towards treatment goals and objectives. They prepare reports for each child in the program. Public Service Interns at times may be the lead facilitator in the Day Treatment setting. Transcripts are required at the time of application. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or the equivalent and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university.Special Notes
Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation. Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.Additional Position Criteria
