As a rapidly expanding referral hospital serving the greater Houston area and Southeast Texas, we're dedicated to providing cutting-edge care to our diverse clientele. Our clientele ranges from international-level professionals to recreational horse owners, creating a demand that exceeds our current professional capacity. Elective surgeries currently have a wait time of 2 to 3 weeks, indicating a robust caseload awaiting your expertise. With over 20,000 visits annually and 35 years of establishment, our practice is both bustling and established. Surgical Expertise and Facilities: Joining our team means stepping into a world of advanced surgical equipment and facilities. Our surgical caseload encompasses all facets of equine surgery, from advanced orthopedic procedures such as cervical vertebral fusion and long bone fracture repair/arthrodesis, to all soft tissue and laparoscopic procedures. We offer 24 hour emergency surgical services as well. Our hospital is equipped to handle any surgical procedure, having a fully staffed and stocked operating theatre with 2 induction/recovery stalls equipped for sling or head and tail rope assisted recovery, if needed, to provide top tier patient care, customized to every case. Our surgical equipment arsenal includes a fully equipped arthroscopic/laparoscopic tower, orthopedic instrumentation for the locking compression system, monopolar/bipolar electrocautery as well as CO2 and diode surgical lasers, the Ligasure vessel sealing device, electrochemotherapy unit, as well as microsurgical equipment (phacoemulsification system and operating microscope) for corneal and cataract surgery. Our imaging systems include digital radiography units, 1m and 3m videoendoscopy, dynamic endoscopy, as well as a BodyTom 32-slice CT scanner which allows for the unique capability of intraoperative CT imaging. Moreover, we're in the planning stages for expanding our operating rooms and induction stalls to accommodate our growing caseload. Our anesthetic capabilities include both inhalant anesthesia with mechanical ventilation as well as total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA), administered by our highly trained anesthesia staff. We are fully equipped to monitor patients with ECG, invasive and noninvasive arterial blood pressure, intraoperative blood gas analysis, as well as end tidal CO2 and inhalant levels. Comprehensive Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation: In addition to a robust surgery caseload, we're equipped with state-of-the-art sports medicine and rehabilitation facilities. Standing CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, LARC testing, exercising EKG, dynamic endoscopy, gastroscopy, and a range of regenerative therapy options ensure comprehensive care for our equine performance patients. Our rehabilitation barn boasts cutting-edge amenities such as a Thera-plate, halotherapy system, cold saltwater spa, water treadmill, and hyperbaric oxygen unit. Multiple surfaces are available for lameness evaluation, with a nearby riding arena for under-saddle and dynamic endoscopy examination. Hospital Facilities: Our hospital is supported by specialists in medicine, critical care, and surgery, along with a 24/7 technical staff, many of whom are RVT/LVT certified. We boast 96 stalls/pens with 13 nder CCT cameras, segregated into areas dedicated to reproduction/general health, surgery/rehab, and internal medicine. Intensive medical therapy is facilitated by multiple fluid pumps, syringe pumps, and oxygen concentrators, while our onsite lab provides comprehensive diagnostic capabilities. Support and Collaboration: At Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals, collaboration is key. Our team includes specialists in internal medicine, emergency and critical care, surgery, acupuncture, and podiatry, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients. Additionally, we maintain close relationships with specialists in ACVO, ACVIM (oncology), ACVR, and ACVSMR. Qualifications: You must be eligible for a license in Texas and should have practice experience in veterinary medicine, including the areas of surgery, sports medicine, and patient management.
