Ankura Managing Director, Ankura Capital Advisors in Nashville, Tennessee

The Managing Director role with Ankura Capital Advisors offers an opportunity for the ideal candidate to leverage the Ankura network to continue to build-out the M&A and Special Situations team. The position represents a unique chance for a highly qualified and motivated professional to further grow our Investment Banking platform. This is a business development and client delivery leadership position and it is expected you will have additional growth potential within the firm.

This role with Ankura Capital Advisors will focus on leveraging your existing client relationships to further the Ankura brand, leading healthy and distressed transactions within a collaborative team environment as well as ensuring all aspects of engagements are delivered with the highest quality standards and impact.

Responsibilities Selling engagements across a network of senior executives, private equity firms, entrepreneurs, lenders and lawyers.

  • Driving new business opportunities within own network and cross-selling complementary service offerings

  • Continuously engaging a network of relationships to yield an active referral base of high-quality opportunities

  • Working with the Ankura Capital Advisors team to lead execution of all deliverable workflows necessary to consummate transactions for in both healthy and distressed deals

  • Reviewing and analyzing client financial statements and projections, financial modeling, accounting, due diligence on balance sheet and P&Ls

  • Provide deal expertise and prepare/oversee the delivery of creative and timely pitches (with and without junior team members).

  • Negotiating, documenting and assisting in transaction execution

  • Actively participate in recruiting and training activities

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of middle market investment banking experience

  • Experience advising on a broad range of strategic alternatives, including mergers, acquisitions, going-private transactions, joint ventures, divestitures, cross-border transactions, and tax-efficient structures

  • Maintains Series 79 and 63 FINRA licenses or must obtain within 120 days of employment

  • An understanding of the bankruptcy and 363 sale process

  • Commanding knowledge of current market terms and trends

  • Expertise in project management and client-facing activities, including leading client presentations, business development meetings, developing work plans, planning and execution of work, supervising team and coordinating with other internal and external service providers

  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business across a network of corporate executives, private equity sponsors, lenders (banks and private lenders), and lawyers

  • Experience supervising other professionals and acting in a manner that that serves to motivate, inspire and develop

  • Proven leader in the delivery of high-quality work that exceeds client expectations

  • Eagerness to be responsive at all times and act with urgency

  • Commitment to out-perform in high pressure, time-constrained environments
