Job Description

As a PCB Designer, you will have hands-on input on many aspects of our product development cycle. This position works closely with other engineering and manufacturing team members to design PCBs for AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters using a variety of power topologies, thermal mitigations, and controls. Our power electronics hardware is integrated to support many robust military systems in real-world applications such as radar, RF, communications, mission computing, battery charging, onboard power, autonomous systems, and more. The best candidate will be detail-oriented, focused on quality and timely schedules, and willing to share skills in a team environment to yield competitive and accurate results.

Responsibilities

  • Create the layout for circuit boards using computer software

  • Develop digital or analog designs for circuits, computer chips, and other components

  • Use layout software to position components and create routes to define electrical connectivity

  • Prepare documents for supplier fabrication and assembly

  • Implement test plans to ensure that PCBs meet industry standards and avoid component failure

  • Make revisions based on customer and engineer specifications

  • Work with engineers to create drawings and support manufacturing and engineering teams

  • Develop PCB design guidelines for PCB designers and manufacturers

  • Develop detailed specifications for the manufacturing process

  • Work on a variety of boards, including multi-layer, hi-power, and standard boards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or 5-7 years in electrical industry

  • 5 years layout work history

  • Good understanding of electronic components

  • Strong knowledge of PCBs

  • Experience working with schematic, CAD and PCB design software such as PCAD, Altium, SolidWorks, AutoCAD

Work Environment

You will join a team of 10 engineers including mechanical, electrical, and quality. You will work under the Electrical Engineering Manager but potentially support 1-2 lead engineers on the team. The company offers a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule from Monday to Thursday, with every Friday off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $31.25/hr.
