FAMILIES UNITED NETWORK INC Direct Support Professional in Muncy, Pennsylvania

The Direct Support Professions (DSP) plays a crucial role in supporting and empowering young individuals by providing guidance, resources, and advocacy to help them overcome challenges and achieve their potential. This position involves working directly with adolescents in our group home. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, skilled in communication and problem-solving, and dedicated to fostering positive change in the lives of young people.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of work experience with adolescents
  • Eligibility under current PA legal and regulatory requirements
  • Valid Driver's License
  • State Police, TBI, and Child Abuse Clearances are required for this position and will be paid for by the agency

Responsibilities:

  • Follow guidance from the Group Home Supervisor on shift
  • Monitor and engage with residents to ensure compliance with program requirements
  • Ensure residents receive weekly allowance money
  • Administer resident medications, according to agency policies and procedures
  • Meet with direct supervisor consistently for supervision sessions
  • Meet on-call requirements
  • During extreme emergencies, when extra coverage is necessary to maintain resident safety, staff may be required to work additional hours or a "double shift". This proves will be kept at a minimum and occur on a rotating basis
  • Schedule may include working holidays. Applicants might be asked to work a different shift as well as potential weekends
  • Complete other duties as assigned that are relative to the position

     

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety and maintain the standard of care appropriate for this position. Ability to physically respond to residents who are engaging in unsafe behavior. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
