Job Summary:
The Embedded Product Cyber Security Team ensures that Caterpillar Machine & Engine Systems are developed with state-of-the-art protection from cyber threats. Our team is developing on machine cybersecurity solutions & software for Caterpillar Display, Telematics, Machine, Engine, & Autonomy product lines that will be in production for years to come.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing cybersecurity solutions for Caterpillar’s embedded product line. They will also be willing to learn new areas of expertise in this fast paced and ever-changing world of cybersecurity while working with multiple systems, software, component, and product teams to produce world class cybersecurity solutions for Caterpillar machines.
The Product Cybersecurity Engineer is a hands-on technical leadership role that will focus primarily on emerging government regulations and helping translate regulatory language into actionable engineering solutions that will meet upcoming regulatory requirements. This includes leading and conducting risk assessments of current product to identify areas of potential risk and working with partner organizations to develop solutions to fill any gaps identified. The job also includes attending training and conferences in order to stay abreast of emerging technologies and developing a road map for introducing those technologies onto Caterpillar Product.
What You Will Do:
• Provide leadership on Cybersecurity objectives, compliance, and implementation during the New Product Introduction process
• Develop Embedded Cybersecurity strategies & solutions that will be implemented into production software
• Serve as a trusted advisor to effectively communicate product cybersecurity issues in a manner that is easily understood and actionable
• Advise on processes and methodologies required when evaluating purchased product solutions and developing new internal solutions
• Support both internal and 3rd party risk assessments working with systems teams and Caterpillar IT
• Identify the business risk and assist in developing remediation strategies as necessary
• Assist risk owners with completing risk treatment plans
Education Requirement:
• Requires a Bachelor’s (4-year) degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.

Software Product Design/Architecture:
• Demonstrates experience with C++ and Python utilizing Linux development environment.
• Ability to analyze software architecture and network diagram for Security Threat architecture Review (STAR) process
• Describes major software architecture alternatives and considerations.
• Analyzes benefits and drawbacks of specific software designs and architecture.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
