Job Summary:

The Cybersecurity Engineer takes a lead role in the secure design and implementation of machine control systems. The position works with multi-discipline teams to identify product cybersecurity vulnerabilities, determine potential risks, and recommend appropriate actions. The cybersecurity engineer leads secure product development processes, making ongoing adjustments in response to emerging security threats. The position improves the organization’s cybersecurity preparedness by providing training and promoting a security minded culture.

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with product management, software architects, engineering, and security specialists to:

  • Identify threats and vulnerabilities in our current and planned products

  • Assess risks and impacts

  • Recommend and implement appropriate controls

  • Leverage best practices, such as for a Secure Development Lifecycle, from industry and Trimble/Caterpillar

  • Clearly articulate cyber risks and solutions to diverse audiences

  • Ensure that anyone who might alter the attack surface is aware of their responsibilities, and has the necessary understanding to act appropriately

  • Regularly assess and report on cybersecurity capabilities and status for both the product and the engineering process

  • Embed cybersecurity into everyday development processes

  • Research and understand emerging information security threats and vulnerabilities

  • Research, design, and advocate for new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support the security requirements for our products

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or related field

Project Management:

  • Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
