DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management team. Under the direct supervision of the Project Supervisor, the Construction Inspector will monitor, document and report that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.

Inspect various facets of work on the construction site as needed  * Take field measurements and perform calculations  * Prepare relevant inspection reports  * Review and perform QA/QC on project deliverables  * Assist with Process Commissioning  * Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used  * Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions  * Maintain and update as-built drawings  * Maintain submittal and RFI logs for respective projects  * Attend meetings including client meetings as required  * Support proposal development  * Perform other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS  * High School Diploma (or equivalent)  * B.S Mechanical Engineering preferred.  * 1-5 years of experience working in a construction related field  * Must possess a valid driver's license  * Have or willing to obtain OSHA 10 and OSHA 30  * Have or willing to obtain Lead Pipe Certification  * Experience working in construction related field (PWSA, Water Authority, preferred)  * Previous experience working on Water Authority plant construction projects is preferred  * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to navigate through company internet based systems  * Able to document work via iPad and have an understanding of  * English language skills, written and verbal, are required in this role  * Possess basic math skills necessary to perform computations for length, area, and volume  * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  * Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures  * Availability to work various shifts, including night shift. Overtime is often required.  * Position may require overnight travel.  * Ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions and/or confine space. Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $27.68 / Hour - $43.59 / Hour. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
