Position Summary
We are looking for a Business Planning & Project Management Officer based at our Montreal location reporting into the General Management team. Your overall responsibility is to manage the entire strategic planning process and to ensure the effective execution of the Market Business Strategy (MBS) by influencing and collaborating with members of the General management team (also known as the Canadian Leadership team). The goal is to ensure excellent support for Market target delivery and growth. Moreover, your responsibility also includes effectively managing the annual performance management (OMP) of the General Management Team. This calls for (1) strong project management prioritization & capabilities to grow and strengthen the talent base and market presence; and (2) ensure business efficiencies through effective and agile project delivery, innovation and cross-functional collaboration. This role also involves representing Nespresso Canada to various stakeholders within and beyond the Market / NiM organizations.
A day in the life:
Business Planning:
• Lead the definition and articulation of the Market Strategy, in close collaboration with the BEO & Mancom, and key stakeholders (HQ, Zone & Market)
• Drive and follow-up the implementation of defined strategy, facilitate the cascading of the strategy across the organization.
• Own Must Win Battle dashboard framework, secure quarterly updates to fuel QBR discussions and facilitate alignment with ManCom when relevant.
• Enable strategy execution through active key stakeholders management.
• Lead Business Review meetings, MBS refresh, Monthly ManCom meetings, etc: align the agenda, lead preparation sessions with key stakeholders, facilitate the meeting, create an executive summary capturing key takeaways and topics requiring escalation to ManCom or HQ.
• Establish Portfolio Management Office (PMO): lead and define market project portfolio in line with Mancom and functional plans to optimize resource allocations and prioritization according to the defined strategies.
• Support general management team with HQ QBR preparation leveraging insights from both internal QBR, NAM, and ManCom.
• Actively support the development and deployment of the NAM BU's business framework (in collaboration with US Head of Strategic planning) and related core business planning activities: Define the Nespresso Business Performance Framework and Top Priorities for NAM BU and its Markets, Ensure NAM BU and its Markets develop business roadmaps aligned to the Company's strategic framework, Facilitate the review of the business plans at leadership team level.
• Support change management program implementation across Market (along with HR function) to contribute to strategy execution and market ambition achievement.
• Lead and/or support major strategic cross-functional strategic projects.
• Manage preparation and delivery of Market visits in the market (framework, storyline, presentation, etc).
Business Opportunities support & acceleration:
• Facilitate cross functional strategic discussions – work closely with ManCom to identify business opportunities and challenges that cannot be addressed within the QBR forum and require dedicated deep dives, lead cross functional working sessions, and define potential impacts on existing MBS plan and framework.
• Support Business cases creation (with Mancom) that drive innovation/sales/efficiencies to achieve market & regional business strategic priorities.
• Take ownership to accelerate a few key priority projects (including direct project management), connect externally to facilitate accelerated delivery.
• Adopt Lean and Agile ways of working to deliver projects where appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to link business opportunities with market & regional trends.
• Identify and propose cross-market opportunities to achieve greater growth and investment, while balancing efficiencies
• Collaborate with NIM Coffee Council and NAM stakeholders to assess Nestlé Coffee brands synergies and opportunities.
People Management
• Influence General Management Team to own their succession plans and support their efforts in thinking through ways of growing their people.
• Ensure cross-functional knowledge in the management of people for stronger performance while ensuring that business targets are supported in their talent strategies
• Lead and hold members of the General Management Team accountable to their KPIs.
• Serve as a sounding board to members of the General Management team on how best to hold strategic meetings with their teams in a manner that ensures that the business strategy cascades across the organization.
What will make you successful?
You will have a:
• Degree in Business, Economics, MBA or equivalent
• Concrete Business experience across variety of functions & roles
• Cross-functional and multi-cultural experience
• Significant experience in stakeholder management and working with senior management.
• Proven track record in delivering business strategic projects.
• Experience in leading or participating in change management programs.
• Experience of creating a positive working culture, enabling empowerment and development of people
• Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement, as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market and/or worldwide.
