We are looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst based in our Mississauga, ON office.

ROLE SUMMARY

This incumbent is responsible for providing financial support and business analysis to brand and customer teams to help optimize growth and profitability and ensure adherence to budget targets. This includes providing financial knowledge and reinforcement of financial principles, recommendations on business issues, as well as financial tools and processes to support the achievement of overall sales growth and profitability.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, interpret, and analyze financial reports and forecasts including variance analyses.

  • Prepare various monthly financial accrual entries to ensure accurate liabilities are reported.

  • Support analyzing & forecasting overheads to ensure budget owners are tracking against their budget targets.

  • Contribute to the financial processes associated with Annual Business Planning and Quarterly forecasts. This includes supporting the planning cycle from the initial scheduling of requirements to the final consolidation and analysis of the plan.

  • Work with commercial team to understand individual product profitability and drivers and assist in developing plans to improve individual brand / account margin and/or overall business.

  • Contribute to customer promotional spending process, customer accrual reconciliation process and ensure SOX compliance.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Canadian Commercial team, US Finance team, Controllership and Operations.

  • Work closely with the leadership team and managers in completing various ad hoc projects and assignments to address specific conditions and situations as required.

  • Develop reporting formats and procedures that allow for timely recognition of financial trends.

  • Enhance monitoring and control systems and processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency, pursue process improvement opportunities as appropriate.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • College/university business degree with 3-4 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting preferably in a CPG environment.

  • Results oriented analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

  • Knowledge of SAP, HFM, HPL, Power BI, preferred.

  • Proven multi-tasking abilities, strong initiative, and adaptability to change.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively at all levels within the organization.

  • Ability to influence the decision-making process.

  • Ability to successfully work within and promote a team environment.
