Job Title: Production Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Assembler to join our team. You will be responsible for assembling electrical and mechanical parts into finished products using various tools and equipment. This role requires frequent use of screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and hand soldering (depending on the department). You will also use a variety of adhesives and chemicals, perform electronic testing, and maintain records using computer workstations.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand assembly prints, Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and assembly processes.

  • Assemble electrical and mechanical parts into finished products using different types of tools and assembly process equipment.

  • Frequent use of screwdrivers and torque wrenches.

  • Hand soldering (depending on department).

  • Apply knowledge and use of various adhesives and chemicals used in the assembly process.

  • Use computer workstations for record-keeping and testing purposes.

  • Perform electronic testing on final assemblies using various test equipment.

  • Perform quality control inspection functions.

  • Adapt to various manufacturing processes and technologies.

  • Lift up to 40 pounds on a consistent basis.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, soldering equipment, small screwdrivers, and torque wrenches.

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Experience with PCB or small part assembly.

  • Knowledge of assembly processes including soldering and the use of a microscope.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or J-STD-001 certification is highly preferred.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Safety attire includes provided smocks and safety glasses, while safety toe shoes are required but not provided. The production area is large and supports different lines for gas and flame detection sensors. There may be a strong epoxy smell in certain areas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
