Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Performing routine cell culture maintenance, including passaging, subculturing, and freezing/thawing of cell lines. -Monitoring cell cultures for growth, viability, and contamination. -Preparing media and reagents necessary for cell culture experiments. -Assisting researchers in setting up and conducting cell-based assays and experiments. -Maintaining accurate records of cell culture activities and experimental protocols. -Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures. -Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot issues related to cell culture and experiment execution. -Contributing to the overall organization and cleanliness of the cell culture facility. -Maintenance of rat colonies -Preparation of standard solutions and management of lab supplies -Proficiency in carrying out experimental procedures -Conducting histology experiments, including tissue preparation, cryosectioning, staining, and immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence Qualifications Required qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with related experience, previous laboratory experience Preferred qualifications: Experience in maintaining and culturing various cell lines, managing rat colonies, preparing tissue slices, performing histology and fluorescent imaging About the Department This position is located in the Department of Neurosurgery.
