This position provides transactional and other Human Resources (HR) support services to staff, Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis managers, supervisors and employees, as well as potential job candidates. The position collaborates with others to process employee and position transactions in the State's HR/payroll systems (SEMA4), complete benefits-related reviews and insurance lookbacks, retirement benefits, and perform other assigned tasks to support the recruiting/staffing process.

This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and will require to be in the office at least 3 days per week.

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

One (1) year of human resources (HR) administrative support experience that includes at least two of the following:

· Processing data in an HR data management system or electronic applicant tracking system sufficient to maintain accurate records.

· HR reporting sufficient to create, modify, and run electronic reports.

· Maintaining HR records such as personnel, hiring, training and medical files.

· Advising managers, supervisors, and/or employees on various HR inquiries.

· Benefits administration support.

· Staffing/vacancy-filling support.

AND

· Skills using an HR information system (HRIS) sufficient to review, enter and maintain employee and position information.

· Skill in Microsoft Office suite of products (such as Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint).

· Ability to understand, interpret, and apply collective bargaining agreements or company policy/handbook provisions.

Preferred Qualifications

· Two (2) years of HR administrative support experience.

· Experience using HR data management systems such as SEMA4 (Statewide Employee Management) or similar systems.

· Knowledge of the State’s HR system such as personnel laws, rules, administrative procedures, and/or contract/plan provisions.

· Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws. Knowledge of reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) or similar tools

Additional Requirements

A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.

A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.

Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
