Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a CFO in the non-profit industry, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As the CFO, you will be instrumental in managing all aspects of financial management, including grant and fund management, accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation. You will also play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization by partnering with the executive leadership and board of directors.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee financial strategies, providing guidance and leadership in all financial matters.

• Ensure compliance with grant and 2 CFR 200 requirements by defining and enforcing financial policies.

• Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, grants accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash flow, and revenue recognition.

• Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for organizational operations.

• Leverage financial planning and forecasting models to provide insight into the organization’s operations and strategies.

• Provide leadership and direction to executives, management, and staff to align the organization on financial priorities.

• Collaborate effectively with executive and senior leadership to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

• Engage the board of directors’ finance committee as appropriate to inform or engage in financial decisions.

• Develop and document financial business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports.

• Coordinate the timely and accurate preparation of regulatory and funder reporting.

• Oversee annual audit processes and grant monitoring, managing relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.

• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that enable regulatory compliance and effective financial management.

• Stay up to date on regulations and legislation related to non-profit operations and apply best practices that drive effectiveness across finance department functions. Requirements

• Proven experience in a CFO or similar leadership role within the non-profit sector for 8 years or more

• Demonstrated skills in Auditing, Budget Processes, and Cash Flow Analysis

• Proficient in using NetSuite and other financial software, Netsuite a plus

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Grant Management and Fund Management

• Ability to manage General Ledger and Cash Flow Forecasts effectively

• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting, and in Financial Reporting

• Strong analytical skills and ability to strategize and implement financial plans

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; a Master's degree or CPA is preferred

• Strong ethical standards and high level of integrity.
