The Application Engineer I is responsible for performing specific engineering and analytical tasks directed toward the proper application and selection of Regal Rexnord Products. Major Responsibilities: Interacts with the sales team and customer to translates customer specifications into product selections that meet customer and Regal Rexnord business needs. Interacts with sales team, field service, and customers to resolve application issues remotely and onsite, including broad product support. Evaluates deviation or substitution requests from plants/suppliers and provides guidance on resolution. Takes responsibility for and complete key tasks on a project-by-project basis, review and approve drawings, and drive to meet deadlines ensuring project success. When appropriate, creates test plans to validate design concepts and material or manufacturing changes, summarizing results, and documenting conclusions. Resolve challenges related to the interpretation of drawings, design tolerances, quality, and material requirements. Execute design engineering functions including gear calculation, bearing selection, shaft and housing design, lubrication design, and accessory component design. Works closely with manufacturing, inspection, and assembly to problem solve issues. Calculate bearing life of gearbox based on applied loading Required Education / Experience / Skills: Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university 0-3+ years\' experience in application support, preferably with industrial products Understanding of Engineering BOMs and drawings Proficient in MS Office tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to effectively problem solve, prioritize, and execute tasks with a sense of urgency. Unquestionable business and personal integrity. Enthusiastic and positive attitude. Preferred: Knowledge of industrial gearboxes, manufacturing processes, castings, fabrications, forgings, sheet metal parts, fittings, and fasteners.
