We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Paralegal in the law firm sector in Midland, Texas. This role involves supporting one attorney, handling a full desk and being solution-driven. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a technologically advanced environment, with the expectation of being a team player and maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a full desk for one attorney, providing comprehensive legal support.

• Develop and implement solutions to challenges as they arise.

• Gain litigation experience, though this is not the main focus of the role.

• Assist with trial preparation as necessary.

• Maintain a high level of technological proficiency to manage tasks efficiently.

• Foster a cooperative work environment as a team player.

• Uphold a positive, can-do attitude in all tasks and interactions.

• Utilize LexisNexis, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook for various tasks.

• Handle billing functions, briefing, calendar management, dictation, documentation as part of the role.

• Apply skills as a Litigation Paralegal in day-to-day tasks.

Requirements • Minimum of one year of experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook

• Familiarity with LexisNexis for legal research

• Experience with billing functions in a legal setting

• Ability to manage calendars, schedule appointments and meetings

• Knowledge of legal briefing and dictation

• Strong documentation skills with attention to detail

• Experience as a Litigation ParaLegal is advantageous

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

• Proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team.
