The Department of Executive Dean For Research is currently seeking a full time Project, Manager, Research Support to work in Miami. The Project Manager, Research Support coordinates and leads efforts in a variety of research activities that are complex and wide in scope. Moreover, the Project Manager, Research Support operates with the goal of ensuring that the collection of data and administration of studies are performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable guidelines.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Aids in the evaluation of problems with workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate analytical approaches. Maintains multiple protocol books and chronicles manuscript preparation. Performs analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets. Presents studies’ results at professional scientific meetings and conferences. Writes manuscripts and journal articles for peer-reviewed medical journals. Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

The Project Manager, Research Support oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a variety of projects within the Office of the Executive Dean for Research to ensure the successful development, completion, and implementation of projects and initiatives.

Manages complex projects and initiatives of high-priority for Office of the Executive Dean for Research Leadership. Incorporates timelines and deadlines into project plans for successful monitoring of progress and completion. Provides quality assurance for assigned deliverables. Manages tight timelines ensuring quick turnaround for successful project delivery. Coordinates and implements change management, when necessary. Partner with multiple departments and offices within MSOM Manages and coordinates agendas, meetings, and workflows for all project meetings. Facilitate communication and serve as resource to the EDR to ensure successful completion and submission of all project-related milestones (i.e., kickoff, progress updates, closure/handoffs, etc.) Other tasks and special projects as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Experience in organizing research related events preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
