James M. Robb – Colorado River State Park (https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/JamesMRobbColoradoRiver) : From Fruita on the west end, to Island Acres on the east end and three stops in-between, this is one park split into five sections. To visit the park, follow the Colorado River west from Debeque Canyon to Fruita, and enjoy five uniquely different river and lake based outdoor recreation opportunities.

PARK MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN$18.00/HOUR depending on experience: Responsible for all general park maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including: restrooms, showers, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, trails, etc.
Operates and performs routine maintenance on State owned vehicles and equipment
Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair and cleanliness
Provides information and assistance to visitors
May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies
Performs other duties as assigned
Be able to lift 50-100 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday
VISITOR SERVICES TECHNICIAN $16.00/HOUR + depending on experience. A customer service based position that involves working in a visitor center or gate entrance, greeting visitors, or may be assigned to work in the field in specialized duties as some parks. Daily interaction with park visitors requires effective communication and public relations skills.
Provide information on the park and the area to visitors
Utilize a Point of Sale System to sell passes, permits, camping, registrations, fishing/hunting license and gift certificates
Answer telephones and take detailed messages.
Accurately collect revenue, complete shift report and shift box at end of each shift.
Prepare campground reservations forms and documents. (Island Acres and Fruita)
May document and report visitor complaints.
Cleaning and light maintenance duties of interior and offices, restrooms, kitchen, watering plants, and litter pick up.
May assist with special events or programs within the park.

NOTE FOR THIS POSITION:
This position is up to 40 hours per week and up to nine months in duration.

INTERNSHIP Park Ranger Intern $18.00/HOUR + depending on experience with an opportunity for increase during the course of employment: This is an internship position that will be exposed to a variety of park operations and other positions within CPW. Dependent on age (21 years minimum) and the results of a background check, ideally this position may also receive training necessary to enforce parks and wildlife laws within the geographic boundaries of the park.
The position will research, advertise and present educational programs to park visitors, assist with general park maintenance, including cleaning restrooms, selling parks and wildlife products via a computerized system and answer questions from the public.
Approximately, 20% of this position’s time will be dedicated to the reclamation of riparian and upland habitat.
This includes the use of portable irrigation equipment, applying herbicides, mechanical removal of non-desirable vegetation by hand, saw or mower and caging or adjusting cages around desirable vegetation.
NOTE FOR THIS POSITION:
If conducting law enforcement duties there is a 21 year age minimum
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a current motor vehicle report.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Colorado drivers' license or reliable transportation
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
Previous experience handling money and working with the public.
Computer experience (Microsoft Word, Excel, Point of Sale) is highly recommended and helpful.
May need to undergo criminal background investigation.
Hours: 40 hours per week, nights, holidays and weekends required
Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work with little supervision
Visitor Center Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must have a valid drivers’ license or reliable transportation
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Previous experience handling money and working with the public is helpful but not required.

Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work with little supervision.
May be required to work the entrance station for an 8 or 10 hour shift
May not be able to leave for lunch
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
These positions will perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Possibly Standing for 8 hours straight on overly busy days.
