As a non-medical transportation driver, you will use an employer- owned vehicle, safely and efficiently transport consumers from their home site to our vocational rehabilitation and day program facility and back home again. In addition, take consumers on outings as needed and as scheduled. Assists consumers on and off vehicles; assures their safety while riding in an assigned vehicle; maintains accurate records and logs of trip information as required; and ensures vehicles you drive are in safe operating condition at all times.

Hours:

  • Mon thru Fri -- (6:45am -- 8:40am), (1:45pm -- 3:45pm)

Compensation:

$525/week guaranteed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Transportation:

  • Safely transport program participants to and from their homes on a daily basis.
  • Ensure punctuality and adherence to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conduct routine safety checks, and report any issues promptly.
  • Preserve appropriate conduct for everybody while traveling on designated routes, make an effort to settle conflicts, and record and report serious incidents and behavioral issues.
  • When required, evacuate the car in a fast and safe manner.
  • Help with alternate routes as given in the event of breakdowns or other unforeseen occurrences.
  • Attend all meetings, programs, and in-service training as assigned.
  • Unless otherwise directed, drive a transportation vehicle strictly in compliance with route assignments and timetables.

Maintenance:

  • Before starting a route, perform a daily safety and maintenance check of the assigned vehicle and report any issues that need to be fixed right away.
  • A basic understanding of the needs for automotive equipment's malfunction and preventative maintenance.

Communication:

  • Report any incidents, changes in participant behavior, or transportation issues to the appropriate channels promptly.
  • Adjust routes as necessary in response to passenger cancellations, transfers, no-shows, and other alterations brought on by shifting service requirements.

Documentation:

  • Fill out and keep track of transportation logs, and vehicle inspections report information such as arrival and departure times for each pick-up and drop-off; passenger cancellations and no-shows, driving hazards,
  • Fill out and keep track of accidents, and/or passenger incidents.
  • Ensure timesheets are accurate and complete for participants and that they are turned in to the employer.

  • Responsible for ensuring that transportation logs are submitted to the weekly.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver's license

Must have a clean background.

Must be 25 years of age or older with 3 years of driving experience.
