Your Opportunity
Our Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania office has an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in training to become Relocation/Acquisition Agents within our Right of Way group.
As a Relocation/Acquisition Agent, you will possess an excellent working knowledge of all right-of-way activities that pertain to business and residential displacements. This will be a hybrid role in which days will be broken up between time in our Mechanicsburg office, traveling, and working from home.
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide decent, safe, and sanitary (DSS) Inspections as requested.
Negotiate with claimants as requested.
Perform settlement duties with claimants as needed.
Ability to read and interpret land survey documents and right-of-way maps.
Attend meetings with clients.
Records research to include basic title searches.
Analyses of property transactions.
Review of courthouse records, including but not limited to: Deeds, Leases, Easements, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust, Wills, Probate Records, Court Cases, Delinquent Taxes, and any other instrument that may affect surface ownership
Learn and implement knowledge in real estate transactions, right-of-way laws and processes, as well as the Department of Transportation’s requirements in elevant jurisdictions.
Become familiar with the provisions of the Federal Uniform Act as it applies to the acquisition of property.
Read and interpret land survey documents and right-of-way maps.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong people skills and negotiation abilities required.
Position will primarily work in a virtual office setting; will require some fieldwork.
Must have the ability to travel weekly to the Fairfax County VA area.
Ability to meet property owners in the evenings as needed.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Education and Experience
Real estate license or knowledge is preferred.
Previous experience in a role utilizing negotiating skills is a plus.
