BAE Systems Proposal Writer in McLean, Virginia

Job Description

This position will report to the Senior Director of Growth and Strategy for the Intelligence Solutions (IS) & Modeling and Simulation Solutions (M&SS) Business Areas.

Responsible for development and curation of proposal content leveraging information gathered via multiple methods (interviews, research, legacy review) and turning into compelling and compliant proposal content. Ability to research, writer, and organize information in a professional and credible manner to write blue content.

  • Broad depth and understanding of government solicitations and ability to decompose requirements and tailor information to score strengths.

  • Must be able to successfully write sections such as Management Approach, Transition Approach, Resumes, Past Performance, Corporate Experience, Risk Management Plans, Quality Control Plans, Executive Summaries, Cost/Price Narrative introductions etc.

  • Interview Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and Solution Architects to draft technical proposal content that is compelling and compliant to the solicitation requirements.

  • Research legacy content to apply and tailor to other customer s solicitation requirements

  • Ability to harvest win themes and key discriminators to deliver compelling and compliant content

  • Ability to incorporate comments gathered from storyboard reviews, pink teams, red teams, and gold teams to deliver compelling and compliant content under tight deadlines

  • Ability to articulate the How and the Why from the What

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from various sources.

  • Identify opportunities for knowledge sharing and implement strategies to promote collaboration and innovation.

  • Stay current with industry standards and best practices in technical writing

  • Attend capture, solution, and proposal meetings to ensure complete understanding of opportunity and ability to tailor proposal messaging

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to prioritize responsibilities to meet critical deadlines

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s Degree, such as in English, Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or related field

  • Strong writing and communication skills with ability to assess and digest vast amounts of information to develop tailored proposal content under tight deadlines

  • Proficient in complex technical proposal writing. Able to translate difficult technical concepts into scoreable proposal prose

  • Deep analytical and critical thinking ability

  • Experience with any IC, FedCiv, or DoD customer

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Security Clearance or willing to be sponsored

  • Prior experience in proposal or technical writing for Government contracting

  • Technical Certifications

  • Trained in professional proposal writing strategy

  • Skilled in strength-based writing practicum

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $113080 - $192280

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
