Outside Sales / Business Development Specialist

B&B Roadway and Security Solutions, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Outside Sales / Business Development Specialist to be located at our McKinney, TX office. This person will be expected to travel to our Russellville, AL location as well as to various sites throughout the U.S. to pursue business opportunities (estimated travel 50%).

What you will be doing:

  • The primary function of the BD Specialist will be to create long-term value through building mutually beneficial relationships influencing loyalty within the Roadway market . The Business Development Specialist will engage decision-makers (contractors, subcontractors, DOTs, etc.) in the industry through conferences, tradeshows, events, social media, and other means necessary to develop brand awareness, market expansion and to meet and exceed revenue targets. Position will also collaborate with the sales team to develop and maintain key account and partner relationships.

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience (minimum 5 years)

    Experience/Duties:

  • 2+ years of successful outside roadway sales experience or other industry related successful outside sales experience and proven results to achieve / exceed targets.

  • Experience selling in a matrix organization and navigating through the executive levels of large multi-level customers

  • Ability to develop a business plan and outline goals annually

  • Assist in the evaluation and design of project offerings and should gain thorough understanding of company offerings and technical preferences

  • Serve as a key participant in team and client meetings with the ability to confront issues openly and quickly as well as effectively communicate relevant project information

  • Pursue excellence in all aspects of business. Conduct research and build knowledge in the industry and share knowledge with others

  • Participate in NPD and CPI as needed

  • Use CRM and calendar to log interactions, sales calls and meetings with outside contacts regarding future projects and potential opportunities

  • Ad hoc process improvement projects as needed

  • Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and CRM software
