Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Maitland, Florida
Description
We are in search of an Accounting Clerk in Maitland, Florida. As an Accounting Clerk, you will primarily focus on Accounts Payable and support accounting management with spreadsheet preparation for reporting purposes. You will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with accounting policies, maintaining accurate records, and providing support in the budgeting process and financial analysis. This role is a contract to hire employment opportunity and requires proficiency in skills such as Accounts Payable (AP), invoice reconciliation, record keeping, compliance with accounting policies and procedures, payment deposits, and other duties related to the job.
Responsibilities
• Maintain precise records of financial transactions and ensure their correct posting to the general ledger system
• Assist in the training of staff relating to accounting policies and procedures
• Process and document accounts payable transactions in order to accurately pay vendors, and associates
• Prepare customer payments for deposit and verify with remittance listing to document deposits
• Provide support to accounting management in the preparation and gathering of information for the budgeting process and financial analysis
• Fulfill other incidental or related duties as assigned, including assisting and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions for developmental purposes
• Monitor requests for payment to ensure compliance with all accounting policies and procedures
• Establish or maintain an accurate record of transactions for future reference
• Perform daily accounting functions, including the calculating, verifying, and posting of financial transactions.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar position
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures
• Familiarity with Billing processes
• Skilled in Data Entry tasks
• Capability to manage Invoice Processing efficiently
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks
• Understanding of Compliance regulations in accounting
• Experience in handling Cash Deposits and Check Deposit procedures
• Ability to perform Budgeting tasks effectively
• Proficiency in Financial Analysis
