Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides customers with Virtualization, Migration and VDI Solutions across public cloud, and OCI Distributed Cloud Portfolio, with a range of deployment models and operational controls. We are seeking a technology specialist who will work as part of a team of deep technical experts delivering Cloud Virtualization & Migration solutions.
What You’ll Do
We seek an experienced specialist in cloud & virtualization technologies to work in our Cloud Virtualization Solutions Specialist team to drive technical adoption of Oracle Cloud’s Virtualization & Compute Services across Oracle’s Distributed Cloud portfolio.
Work in collaboration with Account Cloud Engineers, engage directly with customers to gain a deep understanding of their workload requirements to align with the desired platform for migration to Oracle cloud.
Design the technical strategy for customers’ application migration to Red Hat OpenShift, Oracle Cloud VMware Solution and OCI Compute, based on current and future requirements.
Develop a strong interlock with product & engineering teams, to gain competence in new solutions and features.
Drive the creation of a range of technical assets, best practice templates and design patterns to deliver innovative solutions of the highest quality, adhering to Oracle standards.
Skills and Profile
We are looking for a professional with solid experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Virtualization technologies, able to understand the customer issues in their journey to Oracle Cloud. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of cloud design principles, including security, scalability, and performance, with a broad understanding of Virtualization solutions (e.g. Red Hat OpenShift, VMware, etc.). You will have proven ability to ability to work with variety of stakeholders.
Others key requirements are:
Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms and enterprise-scale virtualized infrastructure.
Extensive experience with virtualization platforms e.g., Red Hat OpenShift, VMware, Hyper-V, KVM etc.
Expertise in installing, configuring, and managing Red Hat OpenShift in on-prem and cloud environments.
Good understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Proficiency in Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Working experience with VMware environments including but not limited to VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, HCX, SRM etc. Experience with the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) is a plus.
Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and how to extend VMware or OpenShift environments into the cloud.
Experience with cloud migration strategies and methodologies, including but not limited to VMware workloads.
Good understanding of Cloud Infrastructure including compute, network, storage, and related architecture.
Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies.
Objectives of the Cloud Virtualization Platforms & Migrations Specialist Team
You will be part of a team of technologists specialized in Virtualization and Cloud Infrastructure who:
Design, deploy, and optimize Virtualization & Migration Solutions to run customer workloads on VMware and Red Hat OpenShift across the OCI Distributed Cloud Portfolio.
Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to design scalable and efficient architectures Red Hat OpenShift, VMware and VDI Solutions.
Provide deep technical expertise and support for Oracle Cloud VMware Solution, Red Hat OpenShift on OCI, Cloud Migrations and Secure Desktops Solutions.
Accelerate customer opportunities with new and existing customers through technical presentations, Proof of Concept (PoC), solution assistance.
Research and evaluate upcoming cloud services to drive continuous improvement.
Create articulate and compelling written assets proficiently, encompassing both external publications and internal documentation.
To Interact with all roles at customer – including CIO, CTO, IT Architects, technical staff and Business representatives.
Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
