American Family Insurance - Corporate Senior Project Manager, Claims Operations (Hybrid) in Madison, Wisconsin

This position provides high-level planning, project, program and/or portfolio leadership within a division or from a corporate oversight perspective. Controls project scope, resources (people and budget) and schedule. In some divisions provides leadership and facilitation for divisional planning or profit and growth planning processes.

This role provides critical support to state product enhancements and rollouts, policy and product conversions, policy and coverage mandates for claims, and partner implementations.

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a

minimum of 10 days per month from the following office

location: Madison, WI 53783.

Position Compensation Range:

$84,000.00 - $139,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

• Assists business division and department leaders in identifying and gathering appropriate internal data and information to support the planning process including investment planning, prioritization, and forecasting.

• Facilitates portfolio sync meetings, and provides oversight for tracking, monitoring and reporting of progress towards strategic goals via alignment and reporting.

• Implements light-weight controls that ensure teams are developing goals and indicators.

• Responsible for reporting metrics related to progress on strategic project portfolio and operationalizing the tracking and reporting of health and performance metrics of business value.

• Maintain internal and external compliance and audit readiness.

• Maintains strong link to continuous improvement opportunities, and partners with Ignite for coaching and implementation

• Develops and maintains standardized business planning tools and methodology to support the planning process and move the organization toward continuous improvement and best practice compliance.

• Define guardrails for event best practices.

• Monitoring and reporting of claim system automations.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in identifying both technical and process impacts, coordinating the business requirements, prioritization discussions, and managing the business implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support of product enhancements, state rollouts, conversions, and partner implementations, including identification of technical and business process impacts.

  • Identify impacts of technical changes and process adjustments.

  • Coordinate with technical teams to estimate work efforts.

  • Align project priorities and ensure smooth implementation.

  • Address and resolve policy system and product defects to comply with state mandates.

Ideal candidate has:

  • Proven experience in product support or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of technical processes and project management.

  • Excellent coordination and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

• Demonstrated experience communicating with all levels of company management.

• Demonstrated experience successfully planning and executing large corporate initiatives involving multiple operational and technical areas across the organization.

• Solid knowledge and understanding of agile portfolio management tools, methods and practices.

• Ability to analyze and present information at all levels of the company, including executive leadership.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10%.
