Otis Technology Junior Buyer in Lyons Falls, New York

Basic Function: The Junior Buyer partners with various internal client groups to deliver all goods and services within specifications, on time and at minimum cost, thus facilitating each department’s optimal performance. Consistently drive a high standard of performance and accountability when dealing with all vendors.Minimum Qualifications and Experience: (Education and Training) HS or GED required1-2 years experience in a buyer or purchasing role preferredExperience in a manufacturing environment helpfulResponsibilities:Communicates with vendors using lean principles and just in time delivery to maintain appropriate deliverables on raw materials, supplies and servicesWorks with prime vendors to promote vendor relationships and vendor managed inventoryIdentifies vendors for goods and services required, i.e. office, facility and manufacturing supplies, and develop strong partnerships based on integrity, quality, on-time performance and costPartners with all departments to maintain inventories at optimal levelsWorks with quality control and various departments, establishes acceptable standards of cost, timing and quality, and consistently delivers against those standardsDevelops and runs reports, and effectively works within all required business systemsAssist other Buyers, participates in meetings i.e. takes notes and prepares information, call suppliers for price quotes and delivery status as directedAssist Materials Department on an as needed basis in support of the departments strategic directionComplies with the organization Policies and Procedures ManualComplies with regulatory and statutory requirementsKnows and explaining the Quality Policy in their own words and how they impact carrying out the requirements of the policy in the job that they doPerforms their essential job functions as defined by job duties Key Competencies:Duties as project manager or project team member as appointedClear and concise verbal and written communication skillsAble to maintain confidentialityDeveloped interpersonal skills-able to maintain strong relationships with all different types of peopleCustomer oriented; able to establish and maintain strong customer relations built on trust, respect and transparencyDemonstration of composure & professional poiseSystems/IT knowledgeComputer savvy with the ability to create reports and maintain various purchasing and inventory systemsAdaptability, demonstrated by flexibility and the ability to thrive in a changing environmentTeamwork and collaborative thinkingDemonstrates high level of communication, cooperation and coordination within and between departmentsDetail orientedResults drivenMaintains a professional atmosphereUpholds the integrity of the organizationStops processes if they find requirements are not being metInitiates Continual Improvements in product, customer satisfaction, processes and safetyMakes decisions and taking actions based upon their defined position responsibilities within the organizationPay range is $16.00 to $23.23 an hour DOEOtis Technology is an Equal Opportunity Employer
