About this position
The TFTJ Hot Section Engineer provides analysis, direction and assistance to the Lynn Turbofan/Turbojet engineering team in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. You will directly work with internal and external manufacturing sources to drive process improvements, cost-reduction activities, delivery initiatives and disposition non-conforming hardware.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
Document and communicate results of technical data generated
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualification/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
Advanced degree in engineering OR 2 years of experience in a design or similar engineering position, inclusive of internships and/or co-ops.
Desired Skills
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in mechanical or aerospaceengineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical design or similar engineering position, inclusive of internships and/or co-ops.
Demonstrated expertise in design and analysis tools, such as Unigraphics/NX, ANSYS classic.
Experience and familiarity with GD&T principles and reading drawings.
Experience in manufacturing high-precision, turbomachinery components.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills.
Ability to independently organize, document, plan and execute simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.
Familiarity with and ability to leverage FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's proprietary LEAN operating system.
Ability to thrive in ambiguity.
