Under general supervision performs skilled mechanical or analytical duties on various projects. May supervise subordinate employees.

Major/Essential Functions:

• Operates & services all types of grounds maintenance equipment related to the irrigation systems.

• Install and service irrigation controllers throughout campus This is an essential personnel position. You will need to be available for on call duty for emergency maintenance or to assist in campus preparation due to inclement weather or hazardous weather conditions.

• Observe entire grounds and identify and document all problems and/or hazards.

• Maintains all aspects of the grounds irrigation systems, including pumps, wells, backflow prevention devices, valves, controllers, etc.

• Directs & trains employees on the proper use of tools, supplies & equipment as related to grounds maintenance for irrigation purposes.

• Design and implement new landscape irrigation systems for upcoming projects.

• Knowledge of all aspects of irrigation.
