Position Description:

The IT Support Senior Specialist has an expert level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT-related areas for the organization. This position’s scope of responsibility includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of software applications, customized applications, systems support, and websites, etc. The Senior IT Support Specialist will also manage team members and area or unit IT software projects in support of business operations.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provide overall IT project management for Academic Innovation and Student Success departments.

  • Interface with central technology support areas on behalf of departments within Academic Innovation & Student Success.

  • Provides Academic Innovation and Student Success departments hardware and software support and maintenance; including but not limited to: desktops, laptops, computer labs, general use equipment.

  • Supervise and train PC/Network student employees including assigning tasks and evaluating task completion.

  • Provide support for Academic Innovation & Student Success department NSCs or serve as NSC for AISS department(s).

  • Responsible for regular Property Inventory Management via the TTU Property Management System and maintain standards for equipment replacement.

  • Provide as needed support as requested by supervisor or VP for Academic Innovation and Student Success or designee.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus seven (7) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience. Applicants for this Security Sensitive Level II position will be subject to a criminal background check and must pass a drug and alcohol test after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed.
