Responsibilities

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Program Manager to oversee and manage a team providing engineering, maintenance, drafting and administrative support to the Western Area Power Administration. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Manage and lead a workforce across various remote locations, ensuring efficient coordination and communication between teams.

  • Oversee all aspects of program management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting on progress.

  • Ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope, adhering to quality standards and program requirements.

  • Provide engineering, maintenance, drafting, and administrative support for projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client needs.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the program aligns with broader business objectives.

  • Establish and maintain program documentation, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Manage risk assessments and mitigation plans to ensure program success.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of performance across the workforce.

  • The PM shall be the focus of interface between Government personnel for specific work teams, as applicable, through the CS, CO, and the Contractor

  • The Contractor shall provide personnel, supervision, management, and administrative services necessary to meet the Government's requirements.

  • Responsible for controlling and managing the financial status of the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field.

  • Minimum five (5) years of work experience in a project or program management role.

  • Strong background in business management or engineering.

  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple remote locations.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on quality management and delivering projects on time.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to obtain WAPA suitability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with DOE or WAPA programs is highly desirable.

  • PMP certification preferred or relevant project/program management experience.
