Responsibilities

A Prehospital Care Coordinator is a Registered Nurse designated by each Base Hospital (California Hospital Medical Center) to coordinate all prehospital care activities sponsered by that base hospital in compliance with the Paramedic Base Hospital Agreement and in accordance with the policies procedures and protocols established the EMS agency. Serves as a liason by maintaining effective lines of communication with base hospital personnel the local EMS Agency EMS provider agencies and local receiving facilities. Develops and maintains a quality improvement (QI) plan.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California

• Be certified as a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) in the County of Los Angeles

• Have experience and knowledge of base radio operations and EMS Agency policies and procedures and the Paramedic Base Hospital Agreement.

• Attend an EMS orientation program provided by the EMS Agency within six (6) months of assuming the postion of PCC

• Be sufficiently available during normal County business hours to meet responsibilities of the PCC.

• BLS required for all areas

• ACLS PALS and MOAB required for Emergency

Pay Range

$48.96 - $74.06 /hour
