Job Description

As an industry leader in program management and construction management for large capital programs, AECOM oversees activities ranging from planning, coordination, scheduling and cost control, to design, construction and commissioning. From concept through completion, we provide necessary technical and administrative services to help our clients meet their program objectives. We act as an extension of our clients’ staff, protecting their interests as our own.

AECOM is looking to hire a Program Risk Manager based out of Los Angeles, California to join our U.S West Region. Reporting to the U.S. West Program Risk Management Lead, this position will be responsible for:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages program-wide opportunity and risk management, including the management of mitigation strategies and allocation of contingency . This includes consultation with key stakeholders on the requirements of the organization

  • Leads risk assessments and risk meetings

  • Leads risk control governance board

  • Manages and leads the risk and change processes for the program and escalated risks from projects

  • Supports regularly scheduled program and project risk reviews and administers the update of integrated program and project risk registers

  • Monitors potential changes and process risks to establish cost and time risk estimates

  • Conducts and document risk workshops

  • Prepares change control and risk reports

  • Establish a strategic risk strategy. Identify, rank, and report on risks through the Program Controls Engine. Report risks with links to schedules and costs to enable collaboration on mitigation plans, decision making, and tracking.

  • Diligently and effectively monitor risk at a strategic and tactical level to identify and eliminate, or mitigate, threats, and identify and exploit opportunities.

  • Embed a consistent, transparent approach to support risk-based decision-making.

  • Capture Risks and opportunities in the risk register in the Program Controls Engine.

  • Manage two additional overseas resources to deliver the above.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant risk management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including experience in delivery of projects and/or programs, including 2 years of leadership

Preferred requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the application of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) techniques and tools, for example: @Risk, ARM, Acumen, and InEight, including the analysis of complex logic-linked cost-loaded schedules.

  • Experience in the delivery of risk throughout the program lifecycle including support of investment decisions and delivery/implementation phases.

  • Understanding of construction contracts and the relationship between risk management and controls/management functions including: program management, change control, planning & scheduling, cost & commercial management and reporting.

  • Evidence of previous experience in definition and delivery of risk management plans within projects and programs.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.

  • Collaborative working style and behaviors.

  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. APM, IRM)

  • Risk Management qualification, for example Master’s Degree or IRM International Certificate.

  • In depth understanding of planning techniques and tools, including P6 and Microsoft Project.

  • Experience delivering risk management at Program or Strategic level.

  • Experience of working in a client environment.

  • Experience in application of a variety of contract forms.

  • Experience in working for a complex business environment or large consultancy.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $180,000.00 - $270,000.00.
