Description A dedicate Regional Medical Center is seeking a Hospital Patient Account Representative. Job Description: We are looking for a diligent, empathetic, and knowledgeable Hospital Patient Account Representative to manage patient accounts, work with insurance carriers and patients to resolve balances. In this role, you will maintain the documentation of patient accounts and provide support in managing accounting functions relating to patient billing responsibilities. Responsibilities: Coordinate all aspects of patient accounts, including billing, coding, and insurance claims. Review account information for compliance with payer and practice policies. Follow up on insurance billing to ensure timely receipt of payments. Resolve patient billing complaints and inquiries. Manage payment posting by applying patient balances to the appropriate accounts. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of billing practices, insurance reimbursement rates, and insurance denial management. Communicate with patients regarding billing issues and insurance queries. Continuous detail oriented development to keep current with industry trends and standards. Requirements A minimum of two years of experience in a hospital billing position. Extensive experience managing medical denials and appeals. Knowledge of billing procedures and insurance policies. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in using medical software systems. Ability to liaise effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare providers.
