Google Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs, EMEA Defense Lead in London, United Kingdom

Minimum qualifications:

  • JD or equivalent degree.

  • 15 years of experience in litigation/regulatory investigations and enforcement, investigations and incidents, or experience creating strategies to address or minimize regulatory risk.

  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.

  • Experience with high risk incident response.

  • Experience with managing projects and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, analytical, investigative skills, attention to detail with the ability to be action-oriented.

  • Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.

Regulatory Affairs helps the company innovate responsibly and comply with laws around the world. We partner with teams across Global Affairs, Product Areas, and the rest of the company to ensure constructive engagement with governments and regulators while mitigating risk.

As Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs, EMEA Defense Lead, you’ll join an EMEA-based team addressing the highest and emerging risks pertaining to all aspects of our business in EMEA including our people, our products, our users, legislators and society, and our ecosystem. You will work closely with Google and other Alphabet companies’ Legal, Data Security and Privacy, Public Policy, Compliance, Communications, Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to identify, prevent, and proactively solve and adapt to Alphabet’s highest risks.

  • Respond to formal regulatory queries, enforcement actions, and other proceedings involving all aspects of our business in EMEA.

  • Manage significant investigations and incidents in EMEA.

  • Evaluate potential emerging internal and external risk in EMEA.

  • Manage special projects designed to strategically address and increase Alphabet's resilience to potential risks.
