Actalent Speech Pathologist in Loma Linda, California
Job Title: Pediatric Speech PathologistJob Description
This is a pediatric position in an outpatient clinic setting, catering to patients ranging from 9 months to 20 years old, with a majority of the patients being toddler to pre-school aged. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Perform assessments of speech and language.
Submit daily therapy notes and same-day reports.
Support reporting and communication of evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, family training, and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with designated practice act and department policy and procedure.
Participate in case conferences and planning meetings.
Work with the program coordinator, case manager, and/or Medical Therapy Unit (MTU)/school representative to communicate and coordinate recommendations for ongoing therapy and equipment needs.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in a pediatric setting (school, inpatient, or outpatient).
CA Speech Pathology Licensure.
BLS-AHA certification.
ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification for Clinical Competence.
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders.
Minimum one year of experience in a medical speech pathology or rehabilitation setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in using computer, printer, and necessary software programs.
Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment and perform technical patient care activities.
Understanding of the economics of rehabilitation.
Ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality.
Effective communication skills in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
Critical thinking and basic math skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively and prioritize workload.
Capability to work well under pressure and problem solve.
Attention to detail and ability to recall information.
Ability to distinguish colors and smells necessary for patient care.
Sufficient hearing for general conversation in person and on the telephone.
Ability to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace/patient care.
Adequate vision to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents.
Ability to discern temperature variances through touch.
Work Environment
100% on-site. Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. The department consists of 3 Speech Pathologists in the outpatient clinic and 3 in the hospital who rotate to support the clinic
