Job Summary:
Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that supplying companies’ systems, processes and capabilities can provide products and services that meet the design intent and performance expectations of Hexagon Agility. This includes initial supply chain company verification.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interface with supply chain teams to prioritize development needs of existing supply base to improve quality, cost competitiveness, and/or supply constraints
Review and assess supplier processes through supplier site visits and supplier self-audits to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
Identify improvement projects and manage cross-functional implementation utilizing Lean/6σ methodologies, supplier scorecards and audits
Track suppliers’ key performance indicators, based on their scorecards and rankings, to facilitate and develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations
Develop positive relationships and work closely with sourcing leaders and cross-functional teams to help suppliers implement and track new product introductions and design changes
Deliver results as measured by key performance metrics, such as incoming quality, field defect rate, supplier engagement/effectiveness, and corrective & preventative action closure
Maintain documentation and reports related to supplier performance
Communicates supplier performance internally and externally via Supplier Scorecard Program to foster collaboration and continuous improvement
Manages supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions to ensure robust solutions.
Ensures improvements at supplier sites in response to corrective or preventative action requests are effective and sustainable
Coordinate and participate in supplier meetings, internally and externally, related to performance management, new opportunities, product development, cost reductions, forecasting, etc.
Support selection process through robust qualification to ensure suppliers can meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment expectations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and/or program management
Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualification
Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality management and business systems
Commercial and financial acumen
Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), SPC, CAPA, DOE, GR&R, GD&T, Capability Studies
Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to Lead and influence cross functional teams
Good negotiation skills with the ability to be persuasive, assertive, tenacious, and confident
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced atmosphere
Computer Skills: ERP, MS Word, MS Excel, email
Credentials and Experience
Five years of quality management, engineering, purchasing or production experience preferred
Quality Management System and/or process auditing preferred
Bachelor’s degree and/or a commensurate combination of education & experience
Other Skills/Abilities or Special Requirements
Supplier Quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Knowledge of appropriate Supplier negotiation, bidding, and pricing tactics and practices preferred
ERP/MRP experience preferred
Technical aptitude preferred
Travel approximately up to 50% of the time within the US and internationally
