Insight Global OSP Installation Inspector in Liberty, South Carolina
Job Description
A client in the Charlotte, NC market is looking for an OSP Installation Inspector to join their team. This person will be responsible for inspecting the run of fiber to residential single family homes. This person will make sure that the drops are in the right place, properly ran, demrac point is properly mounted at customer's premise, make sure the drop is buried in a timely manner, sometimes talk to the residential customers, troubleshooting and working with the GC who is actually doing the boots-on-the-ground work. The OSP Installation Inspector will make recommendations to management regarding ways to keep & maintain the project on track to meet cost, quality, and schedule goals. This person will be a mix of in the office and in the field. This person will be using their own vehicle and will be able to expense mileage for reimbursement (about 30-50 miles per day).
Manage complex circuit installations via Fiber to the premise delivery, working closely with internal departments while building strong relationships to ensure continuity of workflow and attainment of customer committed due dates and departmental goals.
Read and interpret construction documents, i.e., prints and plans as well as splicing diagrams that are used in the splicing of fiber optics.
Responsible for administration and overall supervision of all field personnel.
Clear understanding of fiber design, splicing matrix sheets and documentation requirements with the ability to communicate that understanding.
Manage contract resources as necessary to supplement project needs.
Lead and model effective troubleshooting systems as necessary in the restoration of plant issues.
Responsible for meeting QA/Compliance standards as well as budgetary requirements.
Coordinate with other departments as necessary to maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of new technology being deployed.
Ensure constant compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Respond to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation, when necessary.
Serve as on-call management and respond to end-to-end OSP needs in the event of a service impairment or outage.
Troubleshoot systems as necessary to define root cause and break-fix alternatives.
Ability to read and understand OTDR

Skills and Requirements
3+ years experience with fiber installation
Permit knowledge
Ability to read fiber prints
Understanding of fiber field notes
Ability work closely with vendors
Extremely sharp customer service skills
Knowledge of CAD/E, Microstation, AutoCad or other similar design programs
Valid drivers license and ability to use own car to travel to worksites (drive about 30-50 miles per day)
Microsoft Suite Proficient
Comfortable walking 5+ miles per day null
