Overview

This position is responsible for managing the aspects of PPL's business and economic development strategies and

implementation in Kentucky. Position serves as key liaison with statewide government and regional entities

involved in economic development, growth and retention of large commercial and industrial customer segments.

Provides strategic leadership in the execution of marketing initiatives and analytics for the Company. Leads

marketing activities and builds business cases and strategies to support new business opportunities. Works

across key departments and with internal stakeholders to lead new business development strategies to drive

business expansion and retention, as well as electrification opportunities.

This position could be located in Louisville or Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a Company executive spokesperson in venues involving business and economic development,

including engagement with key stakeholders.

• Manages the development and execution of strategies to address the energy needs and options for

commercial and industrial customers and establishes Company credibility as a source of energy services and

solutions.

• Identifies and proposes compelling solutions to secure new business and facilitate expansion of existing

business customers. Develops an understanding of incentives and regulatory tariffs.

• Develop, deploy, and sustain initiatives that earn the trust and confidence of commercial and industrial

accounts relative to how the electricity provided by the Company impacts their business. This is a broad

responsibility requiring the development of a customer support strategy which establishes effective two-way

communication about the physical service provided and the accurate application of rates, tariffs, policies,

procedures and energy programs.

• Contributes to the business plan through multi-year growth strategies and load forecasting.

• Stays abreast of emerging utility energy trends and technologies to ensure effective quality solutions for

customers on energy projects/solutions.

• Develops and maintains strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders (such as Rates and

Regulatory, Legal, Electric Distribution Operations, Research and Development, Corporate Communications,

and External Affairs) and external stakeholders (large industrial and commercial customers, government

officials, community and economic development leaders.).

• Represents the Company in regulatory proceedings and collaborative efforts concerning emerging businesses

and economic development efforts.

• Represents the Company within constituent communities and serves on boards, advisory committees and

task forces to advance the Company’s role in business and economic development. In coordination with

External and Civic Affairs, serves on, and identifies key Company personnel, to serve on boards, advisory

committees and task forces to expand the Company’s role in business and economic development.

• Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Economics Engineering or other relevant degree.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years related experience, with recent experience in Kentucky.

  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives in large businesses/commercial/industrial area.

  • Proven strategic thinking.

  • Strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills coupled with analytical ability to interpret data.

  • Solid strategic thinker with capability to identify and address customer expectations in a changing energy environment.

  • Should possess excellent interpersonal ability to handle the communicative aspects of this job including relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualfications

• Master’s degree

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong written and oral presentation skills and a demonstrated track record of external public speaking in Company-related venues.

• Innovative in developing solutions and proposals to address customer needs.

Work Conditions

Normal office environment. Some travel required. Customer site and plant visits – subject to dirt, heat, noise,

fumes, etc.

Physical Effort

Primarily sitting with optional standing and walking.

Required Education
