Position: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Location: Lawrence, Kansas

Classification: Non-Exempt \| Full-Time

Pay: \$23-\$27/hour based on experience

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician ensures the smooth operation of production machinery and plant

equipment. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment to minimize

downtime and ensure operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-

motivated problem-solver with strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.

Essential Functions:

Install, maintain, and modify production machinery to minimize downtime.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and

adjustments.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic issues.

Support plant systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Execute minor facility repairs (e.g., walls, doors, and roofs).

Read and interpret schematics, logic diagrams, and blueprints for troubleshooting.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles as required.

Coordinate routine preventive maintenance schedules and order replacement parts.

Maintain safety standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.

What You Bring:

Experience: Maintenance experience in an industrial environment emphasizing electronics.

Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) for troubleshooting,

programming, and maintaining automated systems.

Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills are a must.

Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and logic diagrams.

Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing (preferred).

Ability to safely operate standard hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring

instruments.

Understand safety regulations and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical

parts, and the noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Requirements:

Lift and move up to 100 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently.

Manual dexterity for tool operation and precision work.

Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Tolerance for noise and cleaning chemicals.

Stand for extended periods and travel between buildings as needed.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Occasional overtime and weekends as needed for emergencies or production demands.
