Job Summary:
The Cancer Center RN Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of clinical services to patients undergoing hematology and oncology treatments. This leadership role will require a deep understanding of clinical operations, patient care management, and team coordination in a high-demand, multidisciplinary healthcare environment. The Cancer Center RN Manager will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, pharmacy, and administrative teams to maintain optimal patient care standards and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the hematology and oncology clinic and outpatient infusion services, ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care and maximizing efficiency.
Staff Leadership: Supervise and manage clinical and non-clinical staff within the clinic and infusion department, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Patient Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality treatments in line with best practices and patient safety protocols.
Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, including HIPAA, DNV, CMS, and other relevant accreditation and licensing requirements. Monitor and implement quality assurance initiatives to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the budget and financial performance of the clinic and infusion departments, ensuring efficient use of resources, accurate inventory management, and cost-effective practices.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement strategies to improve patient flow, reduce wait times, enhance patient experience, and improve clinical outcomes.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration between the clinic, infusion team, and other departments, including medical oncology, pharmacy, laboratory, and administrative teams.
Reporting and Data Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for clinic and infusion operations, provide regular reports to senior management, and use data to inform decision-making and operational improvements.
Patient and Family Support: Ensure a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring that patients receive timely information regarding their care plans and treatment options.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Chemotherapy certification (preferred upon hire), required within a year after hire.
Skills:
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of hematology and oncology clinical practices and infusion therapies preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
Proficient in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software.
Ability to analyze data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including patient privacy and safety standards.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position.
The position will require direct involvement in clinical and patient care settings, including standing, walking, and interacting with patients.
The Clinic RN Manager must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining focus on patient care and departmental objectives.
