Protective Industrial Products SAP Basis Administrator in Latham, New York
JOB SUMMARY
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for managing, installing, configuring, monitoring, tuning, and providing on-going Basis technical support for all SAP systems. This individual will troubleshoot and resolve SAP issues and will proactively enhance and maintain system stability, integrity, and performance.
This individual must be able to collaborate easily and cross functionally with various departments and regions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, maintain, configure, and tune SAP environments to ensure integrity, and stability
Perform daily administration, monitoring, and system health checks. If issues arise, troubleshoot and perform problem analysis and resolution
Assist in the planning, designing, and architecting of the SAP landscape and continuous improvement projects. Provide support and perform problem resolution during development and maintenance phases of SAP projects
Analyze system logs and performance metrics and conduct workload analysis. Recommend and implement improvements in a timely manner to ensure optimal performance
Handle, prioritize, and resolve break-fix and enhancements tickets
Plan and implement SAP upgrades and new implementations as required
Daily monitoring, administrating, troubleshooting and tuning of all SAP system
Perform regular system maintenance, patching, and upgrades
Manage SAP user access and security settings
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SAP environment
Collaborate with functional teams for seamless integration of SAP modules
Ensure system compliance with organizational policies and industry standards
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Experience with the installation and maintenance of SAP systems/infrastructure and software components for ECC and HANA
Working knowledge of SAP Basis administration; managing, monitoring, transport system management, system refreshes, upgrades/support packs, tuning, and troubleshooting of the SAP systems
Ability to translate business requirements into technical design and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
Ability to comply with, and contribute to, system configuration standards and guidelines
Ability to maintain status of tasks, defects, issues, and support requests daily
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessment of complex production support issues and ability to recommend and implement effective solutions
Experience in distribution and manufacturing preferred
SAP Basis or SAP Security certifications preferred
