A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNC MACHINIST

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
• Set up CNC machines, including selecting and installing tooling and fixates.
• Write and modify CNC programs to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor the machining process and adjust as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines and production processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in CNC machining or a related field is preferred
• Experience with CNC machine operation and programming, Mazak Lathes experience a plus.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with G-code and Master Cam.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Knowledge.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs) as necessary.
• Prolonged periods standing and working with machinery.
• Good vision, and strong attention to detail.
