Salary Range

USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr.

Overview

The Job in a Nutshell:

This position will oversee and implement the physical and personnel security needs of Natural Grocers sites including (1) Alarm systems (2) Camera Systems (3) Product Security Programs (4) Security Guards and Guard Vendors. This individual is responsible for all aspects of Natural Grocers physical and personnel security programs and will be a primary point of contact for multiple vendors and internal departments to facilitate the installation, implementation, tracking, and maintenance of physical security systems as well as the tracking, payroll, expectation setting, and communication with security personnel.

Responsibilities

Main Ingredients:

  • Coordinate Installation, monitoring, and maintenance of closed-circuit television (CCTV); network video recorders (NVRs); and fire, refrigeration, and intrusion alarm systems.

  • Partner with outside vendors, and internal departments to ensure installation, service, and continuing maintenance of camera and alarm systems.

  • Maintain tracking for licensing, permitting, maintenance, and invoicing related to security programs.

  • Act as primary point of contact for intrusion alarm, refrigeration alarm, fire alarm, and camera system installations and service during remodels, new store construction, relocations, and preventative maintenance cycles.

  • Partner with operations team to track KPIs, compliance, and efficacy of Product Security Programs

  • Source and liaison with vendors for new and ongoing product security initiatives.

  • Create and maintain SOP for product security initiatives, alarm services, and CCTV services and use.

  • Facilitate the distribution of product security collateral to sites.

  • Partner with Training Department to create and maintain training programs related to physical security measures, alarms, and CCTV

  • Research ROI and present findings on new and cutting-edge technologies that may be implemented to provide for the safety and security of Natural Grocers Crew, customer and assets.

  • Monitor vendor guard reports for quality, compliance, and trends and respond as necessary to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Procure permanent and temporary security guard assignments from vendors.

  • Advise stores on security measures, guidelines, best practices, and emergency response

  • Partners with the Director of Safety and Security on direction and oversight of company security strategy

  • Be able to obtain licensure as a Security Supervisor in markets in multiple states

    Supervisory Responsibilities Including:

  • Assists with recruiting and hiring of Safety, Security, and Loss Prevention Crew.

  • Coordinates training programs for new Crew and identifies training needs for current Crew.

  • Facilitate training for and supervise Crew that require security licensure by local status

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Recipe for Success:

  • 2 years of Physical Security or Facilities experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of grocery retail, production and construction environments preferred

  • Proficient skill in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of legal and practical guidelines for security personnel preferred

  • Knowledge of physical security systems and devices and current state of the art preferred.

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required

  • Ability to prioritize and balance changing priorities with attention to detail

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal customer service skills are a must

  • Ability to adapt quickly to change

  • Strong skills in handling multiple assignments, deadlines and high-pressure situations

  • Ability to multi-task, interact with employees with diverse backgrounds and good problem-solving skills.

  • Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule including evenings and weekends

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. Open availability including weekends is a must

  • Must be able to travel for job up to 50% required
