Position Purpose: The IT Systems Engineer I is an entry-level technical position on a small, agile IT team supporting a growing company. The IT Systems Engineer I is responsible for maintaining BCT's IT infrastructure following best practices, troubleshooting issues and implementing fixes as necessary. The candidate for this role must portray strong problem-solving skills, demonstrate effective communication abilities, and willingness to continually expand technical proficiencies.

Job Responsibilities:
Performs server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, license management, group policies, print services, event log research and response, and resource monitor Maintains and troubleshoots internal IT infrastructure, including Linux and Windows, computers, Active Directory & M365, cloud services, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, mobile phones, and network connectivity (LAN, WAN, Internet) Executes security control processes, such as access control, inventory and configuration management, change control, patching, vulnerability scanning and remediation, backups, and device activation and deactivation Maintains essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware Installs, optimizes, and maintains software applications Understands and supports modern IT management concepts such as DevSecOps, information security, hybrid cloud, source code control, trusted repositories, and software-build tools Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/ Education:
Three (3) or more years of information technology, cybersecurity, IT service desk or other relevant experience Demonstrable understanding of IT operations, implementation, and troubleshooting. Demonstrable collaboration and teaming skills Bachelor's degree related to information systems, cybersecurity, or another relevant discipline. Experience with Windows and Linux servers and desktop operating systems, as well as Cloud Services such as M365 Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education Preferred: Relevant professional certifications related to information technology solution delivery and/or information security management
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
