Reporting to a Public Works Operations Maintenance Supervisor, and under daily supervision of a Senior Technician, the Journey Level Maintenance Technician performs skilled journey level maintenance, repair, and equipment operation for one of the City of Lacey Public Works Operations Divisions. This position is responsible for duties which include, but are not limited to, assisting, training, directing and/or overseeing the work of Maintenance Assistants or seasonal positions; frequently looking for and recommending potential improvements in operating procedures and taking initiative to complete work in a safe, orderly and high-quality manner. Employees will be assigned journey level work in various sections of the division, as needed, based on short and long-term operating requirements. The schedule for this position is Thursday to Monday, 7am to 3:30pm, with Tuesday and Wednesday as the days off.
