Robert Half is partnering with an organization seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to ensure seamless payroll processes. The Payroll Specialist will oversee payroll administration, handle payroll-related inquiries, and ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies. You will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while helping maintain the integrity of the company’s payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process multi-state payroll on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis, ensuring accuracy in employee wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions.

• Manage employee timekeeping data and input accurate records into the payroll software system.

• Reconcile payroll registers to ensure proper accounting of wages, deductions, and adjustments.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements and labor laws, including proper tax filings and payments.

• Assist employees with payroll-related questions, such as direct deposits, benefits, and tax withholdings.

• Prepare payroll summaries and audit reports for management, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

• Process and manage wage garnishments, levies, and other required adjustments.

• Collaborate with HR and finance teams on any payroll-related projects or system updates.

  Requirements

• 2–3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.

• Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Paycom, or Workday. Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, are preferred.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience accepted.

• Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance regulations.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills to assist employees and work cross-departmentally.
