Job Purpose

AIG Japan is looking for a highly motivated, result oriented HR professional to join the growing AIG HR team.

The strategic HR Business Partner functions as an engine to grow business through people and organizational/cultural strategy. She or he acts as a strategic partner for the business leaders and designs and delivers organizational initiatives that transform people’s capability and culture to grow the business and be ready for sustainable business growth. She or He change agent the people to design the best-in-class employee experience that attracts and retains our best talents.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver on specialized HR support to Senior leaders around employee relations, talent and performance management, talent acquisition, employee engagement, time management and compliance with local labor law.

  • Partner with Senior leaders to determine key people priorities and deliver solutions to ensure the organization capability, structure and culture are in place to drive the achievement of business goals.

  • Provide expert and well-reasoned HR advice and ensure that all people activities are managed in line with AIG Culture and Values, policy and local regulations and standards.

  • Coach and advise Senior leaders and people managers on all aspects of people management, including Talent Acquisition, employee relations, change management and people development in line with AIG philosophy and policy.

  • Help leaders drive talents reviews and build robust succession planning for key positions.

  • Help leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention and overall employee experience.

  • Foster diversity and inclusion and contribute to rolling out initiatives by working closely with our DEI team.

  • Be accountable for HR compliance in line with labor and employment regulations and to manage business risk arising from employment liability, work closely with local authorities for the issue of relevant permits.

  • Collaborate with local CoE’s and relevant Global / local HR colleagues to design and deliver best practice HR solutions in line with global standards.

  • Collaborate with HR Shared Services to ensure effective delivery of HR operations.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree

Specific Qualifications

Total Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in HR among which a significant experience as HRBP or COEs in an industrial environment.

  • Priorities and Clarity - focuses on the few priorities that matter most. Track record of implementing programs that reduce complexity and measurably improve business performance.

  • HR Knowledge – Curious and up to date on current and possible future trends related to a broad spectrum of HR practices.

  • Organization Effectiveness – creates an environment that inspires and enables people to move the organization forward. Enables teams to work collaboratively and have challenging discussions. Gets things done.

  • Coach and Mentor – elevate the capabilities of the organization for now and the future. Fosters the professional growth of others through knowledge sharing, professional and personal coaching, personal attention, and effort.

  • Digitalization – highly comfortable with HR related data and metrics and motivated to embark in AIG’s journey around digitalization.

  • Analytical Skills – ability to identify the root cause of problems/opportunities and determine possible solutions.

  • Team effectiveness – strong team player with desire to grow with and through others fostering an environment where differences are valued, and success comes through collaboration and constructive feedback.

  • Communication – Business level English and Native level Japanese ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner.

Preferable:

  • Employee Relations – experience in managing difficult situations.

  • Labor Law – knowledge of local Law and implementation with pragmatism in a financial environment.
