Job Description

How will you crush it?

As a software engineer in NetSuite HCM Payroll, you are expected to work on the Payroll product developed for our customers, maintain and improve our code base, write Test Automation to assure the Quality of our deliverables and work on bug fixing and defect investigation. Your efforts will directly contribute to making things better for thousands of our customers.

As part of working on our Agile teams, you own your domain, and you have a say on user experience and technical design. You'll be designing and implementing solutions that include database schemas, business logic, as well as some presentation layer work.

Your qualifications & skills:

  • B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or similar

  • 5+ years of software development experience and 3+ years of experience with C# or a similar object-oriented programming language

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Windows, including PowerShell scripting

  • Great understanding of SQL and extensive experience with database-driven applications

  • Applied knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and unit testing in an object-oriented language

  • Understanding of web application architecture and security, HTTP, and web browsers

  • Ability to analyze and extract functional requirements.

  • Excellent communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts

  • Troubleshooting production and QA environments (network, database, etc.)

  • Configuring and maintaining application and database servers

  • Setting up deployments in collaboration with system and network administrators

  • Familiarity with data privacy and protection legislature such as GDPR is nice to have.

Responsibilities

As a One Engineer, you will be responsible for development, testing, and test automation in the team. We believe in “every member of the Scrum team being capable of every task – development or testing”.

  • Design, document, and implement technical solutions for the provided requirements

  • Maintain and enhance the current system in areas of performance, scalability, testability

  • Database design, fine-tuning complex T-SQL queries

  • Conduct test planning, testing, and writing automated tests

  • Innovate to resolve complex issues to help improve development, testing, and operations

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization as required to implement functional and non-functional requirements

  • Help in establishing and following key technical architecture & design guidelines, and advocate for new technologies/tools

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and promote agile principles

  • Communicate solutions and updates clearly and concisely to fellow team members and senior management

  • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, testability, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in Finance/ U.S Payroll domain

  • Good understanding of networking concepts

  • Proven interest and experience in developing tools

  • Experience leading and coaching other developers

  • Familiarity with data privacy and protection legislature such as GDPR

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

Canada: Hiring Range from $66,700 to $145,000 CAD per annum

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
