Orion Production Operations Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline and 10-14 years of relevant experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in EGS systems engineering processes.
Knowledge of launch vehicle, facility, payloads, transportation, test integration, and operations.
3-5 years of direct spacecraft operations experience is desired
Knowledge of Concept of Operations development
Proficiency in technical document review to include design drawings.
Summary
This position supports operations integration activities for the Orion Production Operations (OPO) Branch, Operations and Test Management Division of NASA's Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program Office located at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The successful candidate will support test activities in support of the Orion spacecraft prior to turnover to EGS for processing and launch. The primary duty of this position is to support test activities for multiple modules and missions.
Responsibilities:
Performs daily support for OPO Orion test team
Supports OPO Orion test team to assure planned tests are planned, coordinated, and executed to meet test requirements
Supports test procedures planning, development, reviews, and execution for active on-console test support
Supports test room pre-test ops and post-test ops configurations
Supports test data analysis, test documentation processing and test team data management
Assists in test support planning and development of tools to manage test support tracking
Provides technical operations test support and insight to test team for all planned test operations to include test anomalies recovery and unplanned test impacts
Applies engineering techniques and lessons learned to support future test campaigns
Keeps management informed of work progress, and progress in meeting milestones and deadlines, and problems encountered
As a team member, provides inputs with clear communication and understanding of performance to plan, risks and other technical, schedule and budgetary impacts
Supports Program panels/boards related to program test decisions
Remains cognizant of new and emerging test opportunities, tools, capabilities, and strategies
Supports what if assessment/trade study schedules to study, analyze and evaluate schedule projections and forecast

Knowledge of aerospace systems, structures, materials, kinematics and mechanics, aerodynamics, and fluids.
Knowledge of Operations and Maintenance Requirements and Specifications (OMRS) and Work Authorization Document (WAD) development.
Knowledge of NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR) 7123.1 NASA Systems Engineering Processes and Requirements.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Access, or quickly come up to speed.
